I think he's admitting to the gimmicks of HA?

In any case, GvG is obviously superior PvP play. Anyone who can't see that, especially with all the flames HA has taken in these forums, doesn't have a valid sense of perception.

Well, this might be true for top 300 guilds (rough estimation) but certainly not for all GvG's. And there are quite some guilds in HA who try to think of new builds and keep on working on it untill they've found builds which are succesfull. Me and my guild try out a new build virually every day. And GvG isn't free of gimmick builds either. When you watch some matches in observermode, how often do you see a charge-warrior, 2 boonprots, 2 mesmers, 1 ele, 1 necro and 1 whatever? Quite often, and for the simple reason that guilds know it's an effective build. I've seen so many matches in observermode where the 2 guilds were running almost an identical build.

The big difference between GvG and HA, is that in GvG you HAVE to win. Losing in GvG has concequences for your guildrank. Losing in HA has no concequences whatsoever.

In the end it all comes down on how the team is running a certain build. Why do the same guilds win halls over and over every day? Cause they're able to run their build perfectly. Why are guilds in the top 50? For exactly the same reason.

There is a vast difference between a gimmick and what is just a strong combination. Gimmicks are built to take advantage of bad players, or bad play mechanics. They counter a lot of builds, but at the same time have a direct counter themselves. The standard balanced GvG build exists because it is very difficult to directly counter, and is very flexible. The emphasis is on youre skill as a player to win matches; not just counting down or c-spacing.

What Dark Ross is trying to say is that if it wasn't for the nerfs to the various FotM's that used to exist, many guilds that have moved on would not have, if their build was still functioning the same.

Or at least the transfer to GvG would have taken longer.

Uh. I am not in a guild currently. But I have made a build in Tombs which is extremely unique.

I have beat many "good guilds" (note emphasis on the quotes).

Most recent is love's 4 migraine mesmer build.

Btw, Lishi change your guild you scrub.

And I do not like prez anymore. Reason being:
Did THK + bonus for a member then afterward I get banned from vent + forums. (wtf? lol)

Ooo, and Albino Ilama Academy are tight.

I dunno if he's been mentioned, but Sky Seraph. He used to be the leader of Zap (Zephyr Angel Prodigies or something) but it disbanded (ranked 400-ish). Anyway, he was the first to run the edge build, and he doesn't farm his fame, so he's only rank 7. But I'd take him over an IWAY R12, or spiker who farms fame all day.

He's also my best friend in RL, so sort of a shameless plug, but hey.

Yeah that's almost it. What i actualy meant is that there have been so many skill updates since those guilds stopped playing tombs that if they were to go back they'd get bloody raped. Not to mention the fact that most of "top" ex tombs players got most of their fame Spirit spamming.

To get us mad you must play:

1. IWAY
2. Necro spike
3. Make Alliances in Halls
4. Gank our team when you dont have the altar in Halls, we will help the holder in that case (in the 3 team situation ofc).

By good guilds i ment top 100 probably more like top 60 but w.e.

1. Tombs meta game is so sad no one needs to adjust really blood spike+ IWAY( wards vs melee, infuse OMG 3/4 of teams done)
2. The communication on good gvg teams is sick unlike tombs so unless the tombs build is so unqiue that it can overcome player skill(which is VERY rarely the case) gg tombs players >.<
